Nightshade Dangers: Why Eating the Wrong Fruits and Vegetables Can Make Pain Worse

Fruits and vegetables are extremely beneficial to our health. Certain products, on the other hand, can have detrimental consequences if used incorrectly.

Nightshades are a type of plant that belongs to the Solanaceae family. This plant family has about 2,000 species. Most of these plants are familiar to us, such as tomatoes, potatoes, various peppers, and eggplants.

Even though they are not nightshade plants, blueberries, huckleberries, goji berries, and ashwagandha (Indian Ginseng) might occasionally fall into this category.

Consumption of nightshades can cause inflammation because they contain solanine, a substance that, according to scientists, causes inflammation in the gastrointestinal tract.

If this chemical enters the bloodstream, it can harm the red blood cells, which are responsible for transporting oxygen to the cells. Solanine can also easily produce ACh (neurotransmitter acetylcholine) buildup in the nerves.

This also strains the neural receptors that trigger the parasympathetic nervous system.

Cooking has no effect on solanine because it is not soluble in water. As a result, in order to be eliminated from the system, it must take the form of alpha-solanine. The neurotoxin alpha-solanine is categorised.

The majority of foods we consume contain alpha-solanine, as well as other neurotoxins, like atropine and nicotine.

Nightshades Trigger Arthritis

Arthritis is one of the side effects of nightshades.

They remove calcium from the bones, making them weak and brittle. As a result, people with osteoarthritis, rheumatoid arthritis, or other joint issues, such as gout, are recommended to avoid nightshades.

As a result of this, Norman F. Childers, Ph.D., founder of the Arthritis Nightshades Research Foundation, explains:

“Based on surveys of over 1400 volunteers over a 20-year period, diet appears to be a factor in the aetiology of arthritis.”

Plants from the pharmacological family Solanaceae (nightshades) are a major cause of arthritis in sensitive people.”

This reaction is caused by tropane, a type of alkaloid that induces increased sensitivity.

If you avoid nightshades in your diet, you may never need an inhaler again. It will also assist you in treating all of your knee problems.

Here is the full list of nightshade plants you should avoid:

  • Tomatoes (all varieties, including tomatillos)
  • Potatoes (all varieties, NOT sweet potatoes or yams)
  • Eggplant (aubergine)
  • Okra
  • Artichokes
  • Peppers (all varieties, including bell pepper, wax pepper, green & red peppers, chili peppers, cayenne, paprika, etc.)
  • Goji berries
  • Tamarillos (a plum-like fruit from Peru)
  • Sorrel
  • Garden Huckleberry & Blueberries (they also contain the alkaloids that induce inflammation)
  • Gooseberries
  • Pepino Melon
  • The Homeopathic “Belladonna”
  • Tobacco
  • Paprika
  • Cayenne Pepper

In addition to the ones listed above, you should avoid soy sauce because it contains GMO soybeans.

If you insist on using it, you should buy Braggs Amino Acids from your local store. This form of soy sauce ferments in an unusual manner and contains solely water.

Black or white pepper, as well as peppercorns, do not belong to the nightshade family.

What Else To Avoid

  • Homeopathic remedies containing Belladonna (known as deadly nightshades)
  • Prescription and over-the-counter drugs full of potato starch (often found in sleeping pills and muscle- relaxing meds)
  • Edible flowers: Petunia, chalice vine, day jasmine, angel and devil’s trumpets
  • Atropine and Scopolamine included in sleeping pills
  • Topical medications for pain and inflammation, rich in cayenne pepper
  • Baking powders- many of them include potato starch
  • licking envelopes, since the glue contains starch
  • Vodka (potatoes have been used in the production process)

Be careful when you’re picking out Vodka and never go with the ones based on spices, so carefully read the labels before you decide.

Three Month Challenge

It is recommended to begin acclimating to a life free of nightshades with a three-month challenge. It entails avoiding all nightshade products, prescriptions, over-the-counter drugs, and processed foods containing nightshades.

After three months, include one nightshade at a time into your diet. Because of the inclusion of nightshades, this will result in symptoms such as energy loss, headaches, soreness, stiffness, and respiratory issues. This will make you want to never try them again.

The Cost of Pain

On June 29, 2011, the National Academies’ Institute of Medicine issued a study that revealed that about 116 million adult Americans experience pain on a regular basis.

This number outnumbers cancer, diabetes, and heart disease sufferers combined. Patients pay $635 billion dollars per year to treat this ailment.
