This Drink Is “Death” For The Heart: If You Are Over 40, Forget It Immediately

As you become older, you become increasingly concerned about the impact of alcohol on your health. Several alcoholic beverages should be avoided because they are harmful to the heart.

The first drink is rum blended with soda. Dr. Lisa Young stated in an interview with Eat This, Not That magazine that any alcoholic beverage mixed with soda is bad for your heart.

According to a recent study published in the Journal of the American College of Cardiology, people who drink rum with soda on a regular basis have an elevated risk of heart disease and stroke. They can be lethal when combined with alcohol.

Another drink to avoid is the piña colada cocktail.

“It’s made with rum, pineapple juice and coconut milk, which are high in sugar and saturated fat,” said Dr. Young. Saturated fats increase the level of LDL, or bad cholesterol, which leads to heart complications.

The Long Island Ice Cocktail is another bad drink because it is high in sugar and calories.

“It contains alcohol, syrup, soda, and several other sweet and sour ingredients that are harmful to the heart,” she explains.

This cocktail is wonderful and will make you drunk far faster than most cocktails, but watch out since too much sugar and alcohol is still not a smart idea.
