Ice cream, oh my! You are so delicious and cozy, yet you are so awful for us!
Ice cream is delicious, but it also contains a lot of sugar, fat, and calories. Also, the fact that it is so moreish makes it difficult to eat just one spoonful before feeling the desire for another. one more. one more. so forth.
What if, though, ice cream wasn’t bad for you? What if it was extremely healthy for you and something you ought to be urged to eat?
What if it wasn’t also outrageously pricey (looking at you, Ben & Jerry’s!).
No, this isn’t some sort of bizarre alternate reality… Well, it’s entirely feasible. There is a simple, three-ingredient recipe for incredibly healthy ice cream that you can prepare at home. This is, indeed, the promised land.
And this is the receipt…
How to Make Healthy Ice Cream From Three Ingredients
You will need:
- ½ cup coconut milk
- 5 tablespoons of corn starch or tapioca starch
- 1 ½ cups of fruit or vegetable juice
To make it, combine the starch and half the coconut milk in a bowl and stir until the mixture is smooth. Now put it aside and simmer the remaining milk on low heat, stirring occasionally, until it bubbles.
Now stir the previously prepared mixture into the warm coconut milk while allowing it to gently bubble. Stir quickly, then remove it from the pan and pour it into a heatproof bowl as soon as it starts to thicken.
Juice should be added, and you can even add chopped fruit if you’d like. You can have fun experimenting with different fruits such as strawberry, cherry, banana, and others.
You can quickly make tasty and healthful ice cream by chilling the mixture.
Keep in mind that you can prepare your own tapioca starch by grinding instant tapioca in a spice grinder or mortar and pestle.
Naturally, the coconut in this combo provides the majority of the health advantages. The benefits of coconut for our health as an antioxidant and source of many beneficial elements are numerous.
MCT oil, or medium chain triglycerides, are also present in coconut milk, and their structural makeup enables them to enter the liver much more quickly without being broken down. Then, they promote the creation of ketones, which offer the brain an alternate energy source (and the glial cells in particular).
All of this translates to an energy boost without an increase in blood sugar. The best thing, though? It moves through the body too quickly to be converted to fat. Learning more about coconut’s health advantages is definitely worthwhile.
Also, adding fruits that are rich in vitamins and minerals will of course provide a variety of additional health advantages.
