Mayonnaise should definitely not be a part of your daily diet, and in search of a healthier alternative to this favorite spread, we came across a healthier version on the Chrono Kitchen website, where you can find a variety of chrono recipes every day.
- 1 cup cashews
- a pair of common walnuts
- lemon juice
- 3 tablespoons olive oil (or more if you think it’s too thick)
- ¼ cup of water
- a teaspoon of mustard
- a teaspoon of turmeric
- salt and pepper to taste
Soak cashew nuts in water for several hours. Or shorter, but then let the water be warm. Place the drained cashew nuts in a blender. Add lemon juice, oil, mustard, water, turmeric and dill. Mix everything. If you want the original appearance of mayonnaise, avoid seasoning, although it gives a great aroma.
Taste and add salt and pepper to taste or maybe more lemon juice. Maybe very little garlic. Be sure to taste it first, then add the various spices you like.
