Mask Of Mint Against Headache

Severe pain on one side or both sides, sensitivity to light, nausea and weakness are some of the consequences of a serious headache.

Headaches and migraines start to represent an issue for an ever increasing number of individuals to block the normal daily life.

Sarah Crystal, a neurologist and specialist in migraine, claims that most headaches are a result of stress, changes in biorhythm, hormonal imbalance and excessive amounts of caffeine. Additionally, a diet full of chocolate, cheese, nitrates and additives can also be a cause of pain. “The causes of migraine are often genetic. Every person has his own cause and therefore there is no universal solution for migraine, “claims Woman’s Health.

That is the reason specialists prescribe medicines, but also natural solutions.

One of the alternative ways to treat is the essential oil of mint, Crystal claims, adding that menthol is an active ingredient in essential oil from mint and has been proven to help alleviate headaches.

The 2015 overview, distributed by Frontiers in Neurology, suggests that mint oil is used for massage for the removal of migraine:

  • Dissolve several drops of essential oil from peppermint to another oil such as coconut.
  • Massage with the oil on the temples and foreheads, use circular movements.
  • Massage 1 minute
  • In case the massage does not help you, Dr. Crystal suggests you put a few drops of essential oil on the handkerchief and inhale deeply or put a cold coating with the oil at the head.
