Here is Why You Need to Stop Drinking Cow’s Milk Immediately

If you grew up in the 1970s, 1980s, or 1990s, you were most certainly a victim of one of two popular marketing initiatives at the time. One of them was the original milk campaign in numerous states, with the phrase “it does a body good.”

Goodby, Silverstein and Partners designed the second advertising campaign, which featured the tagline “Got Milk?” as well as images of people sporting a milk moustache. With all of that promotion, it’s no surprise that we were raised to believe that milk is one of the healthiest beverages on the planet. Unfortunately, the reality is a little different.

The Evidence against Milk

Several research in laboratories and colleges throughout the world have been conducted in the last several decades to test the notion that milk is healthful.

In Sweden, one such study compared the mortality risk of women who drank three glasses of milk per day versus those who consumed one glass or less.

Surprisingly, milk consumers had double the death rate, and even more surprisingly, those who drank a lot of milk had worse bone health and more breakage than those who rarely drank milk.

But it wasn’t simply dairy items in general; it was milk specifically, because women who consumed cheese and yoghurt, fermented milk foods, had a lower death rate and better bone health. If you’re still not convinced, here are eight compelling reasons to avoid milk and limit your intake to one glass per day.

  1. Animal studies have demonstrated that the main protein in milk promotes cancer.
  2. Milk is probably certainly the world’s most common food allergy.
  3. Many people are unable to consume milk due to lactose sensitivity.
