One food should be avoided if you have high blood cholesterol.
Elevated cholesterol is becoming a more prevalent health problem, and an even worse issue is that many people are unaware they have it, therefore they do not seek treatment.
High cholesterol can be caused by a variety of causes, including age, advanced age, alcohol and cigarette intake, and several chronic health issues.
A cholesterol-lowering diet, in addition to drugs, can help lower cholesterol, and specialists are working to figure out which foods are the worst for high cholesterol.
“Red meat is particularly bad for high cholesterol,” Jinan Ban, a nutrition expert at the University of Hawaii, said.
“It includes saturated fat and cholesterol, both of which can raise cholesterol levels when ingested in excessive quantities.”
It also raises the risk of coronary artery disease.”
Consumption of saturated fat-rich foods stimulates the body to generate LDL, or bad cholesterol, in the blood, resulting in an increase in cholesterol levels. Saturated fats are naturally found in many foods, even those of plant origin, but are found primarily in meat products.
