A Norwegian Study Reveals: This Food Can Extend Life By Ten Years

Diet influences health, energy levels, and even lifespan. A study published in the journal Plos Medicine by a group of Norwegian researchers from the University of Bergen found that some meals can dramatically increase human lifetime.

Malnutrition causes more than 11 million early deaths each year. The scientists then compared that figure to other studies to see how different meals affect human longevity. In this approach, experts were able to identify a certain diet that can help us live longer lives.

What kind of food is that?

Fruits and vegetables are the foundation of healthy eating. Although it is not a secret, scientists have compiled a list of foods with particular properties.

The staples of this diet are peas, lentils, and soybeans. Whole grains, corn, oats, and wheat are all required. Almonds, pistachios, and walnuts are essential. Red meat and processed foods, on the other hand, should be consumed in moderation.

Scientists have concluded that eating 2,000 grammes of legumes per year and limiting sugary and salty foods in the daily diet can increase life expectancy by up to two years.

It goes without saying that even individuals who aim to eat well occasionally consume unhealthy foods. The most essential thing, though, is to persevere, because the ultimate goal is to develop better habits that will allow you to live a longer life.
