Dragon fruit, sometimes referred to as pitahaya and pitaya, is a rare plant that comes in three colors: white, pink, and magenta. This fruit is now grown in Southern California, Florida, Cambodia, Thailand, and Malaysia. It was once grown in Mexico, Central America, and South America.
Its flavor is similar to that of watermelon, cactus pears, and kiwis. Its texture is similar to that of a melon, and its seeds are crunchy. The most popular kind has a thick, deep pinkish-red, leathery skin covered in flame-like green spikes.

Dragon fruit sorbet recipe:
- 4 ripe magenta-fleshed dragon fruits
- 2 tablespoons lemon juice
- 3/4 cup cold water (only if the fruit is not ripe)
- 4 tablespoons sugar (optional)
If the dragon fruit is not ripe and juicy, add water to the blender after peeling it. Then, if you’ve decided to use it, add the sugar and lemon juice, and mix until smooth.
The mixture should then be added to an ice cream maker and frozen.
The sorbet should then soften for 10 minutes at room temperature before being served.
