Ben Affleck’s friends have spoken to the Daily Mail about the near-collapse of his marriage to Jennifer Lopez, revealing what doomed their relationship.
As a friend of Ben Affleck told the Daily Mail, JLo’s alcohol business was the main item in the sequence that caused the breakup of the relationship. In their claims, they state that this is what contributed to Ben, not Jennifer, being the one to make the decision amid speculation that their marriage was finally over.
Why was Ben so furious about this thing? Friends say that, as a recovering alcoholic, he felt insulted by his wife who sold alcohol. When the brand first launched last year, they said it was doomed. His injury was only compounded by his belief that her motivation for starting the beverage brand was purely financial.
Ben first sought help for his alcoholism in 2001 and has been in rehab several times since then. His drinking led to the collapse of his marriage to Jennifer Garner.
Last week, the Daily Mail revealed that Jennifer and Ben have prepared the papers for their divorce and will file the papers at the end of the summer. After last-ditch attempts at reconciliation failed over the past few weeks, divorce papers have been signed but not yet filed, according to multiple sources.
His desire for a private life and her desire for unlimited exposure have reached their peak this year, and the actor’s friends cite this as another reason for the couple’s split.
“Her obsession with fame became too much for him. She needed to be photographed and adored. She would share so much of herself with the world that he felt he had nothing left,” said a friend of the actor, further claiming, “It’s not just a job for her, it’s a way of life, and in the end she couldn’t quit from that.
JLo appears to have shaped much of her new, lucrative ad around their rekindled romance. Some go so far as to say he resented her new album being focused on him and was completely opposed to her TV documentary This Is Me… Now: A Love Story.
This documentary, which tells the story of her journey to love, was mercilessly mocked, and in the end she lost the millions invested.
A source close to the couple says Ben was furious: ‘He didn’t want her to do it at all. She asked him to invest in it and participate in a project that he was absolutely against.”
In the end, buying a mansion was another red flag, according to a friend of the actor.
