When you eat fiber-rich foods, glucose slowly releases, which prevents the rise in blood sugar levels. Eat lots of green leafy vegetables, as this will improve the digestive system.

  1. Avoid refined carbohydrates.

Avoid consuming refined carbohydrates. They are found in candy, sweet and dried cereals, and affect obesity.

  1. Do not drink too much coffee or tea.

It has been proven that people who drink more than four cups of tea or coffee per day have a greater chance of becoming diabetic.

  1. Eat often.

Consuming frequent, small meals can also help you regulate your blood sugar level. Therefore, it is advisable to eat small meals 5 to 6 times a day.
